Henry Schein Cares Marks 25 Years of Helping Health Happen®
Melville, N.Y. (USA) – 30 September 2026: Henry Schein Cares, Henry Schein, Inc.’s global corporate citizenship programme, is celebrating a quarter century of bringing together Team Schein Members, customers, supplier partners, healthcare professionals, nonprofit organisations, and communities to help make the world healthier.
Today, Henry Schein Cares reflects the Company’s broader approach to corporate citizenship through five interconnected pillars:
-
Catalysing Healthcare Access
-
Advancing Policies, Solutions & Innovations
-
Relationship Building for Change
-
Empowering Team Schein
-
Sustaining the Planet
Together, these pillars provide a framework for the Company’s efforts to create positive change across health, society, people, and the planet.
Since its formal launch in 2001, Henry Schein Cares has contributed more than $285 million in cash and donated products, collaborated with more than 5,000 charitable partners worldwide, delivered over 100,000 hygiene kits through its We Care Global Challenge, supported more than 75,000 students globally through its Back to School programme, and much more.
“Helping health happen has been at the core of our purpose since Henry and Esther Schein founded the Company more than 94 years ago,” said Fred Lowery, Chief Executive Officer of Henry Schein. “For the past 25 years, Henry Schein Cares formally brought the philosophy of ‘doing well by doing good’ to life, harnessing the power of partnerships to strengthen healthcare and communities around the world. As we look to the next 25 years and beyond, together we will continue to build on that legacy to help create a healthier future for all.”
On 23 September, during the United Nations General Assembly Week, Henry Schein celebrated this milestone anniversary with a signature event in New York City, gathering partners, customers, Team Schein Members, healthcare leaders, and other key stakeholders. The event honoured the collective impact achieved since 2001, while previewing the areas where Henry Schein Cares will focus its impact over the next 25 years, including expanding access to care for vulnerable populations, advancing dental-medical integration, prevention and wellness, minimally invasive care, and disaster preparedness.
A fireside chat between Fred and Diane Brady, Executive Editorial Director of Fortune, reflected on the Company’s journey and looked ahead to the evolving role of sustainability and philanthropy in business, including how purpose, partnership, and shared value can help address pressing health and societal challenges. Fred and Diane also discussed the important role of oral health in systemic health, as well as innovative partnerships the Company is developing to further its mission.
“As Henry Schein Cares enters its next chapter, we have an opportunity to build upon what we’ve learned while focusing on where we can make the greatest difference,” said David Kochman, Senior Vice President, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Henry Schein. “That means continuing to expand access to care while placing an even greater emphasis on prevention, supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals, and strengthening the partnerships that make lasting change possible. We know that no one organisation can do this work alone. By working together, we can help build a healthier and more resilient world.”

“The connection between the health of our planet and the health of our communities is clear, which is why sustaining the planet is an important part of how we think about helping health happen,” said Jennifer Kim Field, Vice President, Chief Sustainability Officer, Henry Schein. “As we look to the future, our focus is on continuing to reduce our environmental impact while working alongside our customers, supplier partners, Team Schein Members, and others across the healthcare ecosystem to drive meaningful change.”
