3M Health Care agrees Treo Solutions deal

3M Health Care has announced it has reached an agreement to purchase Treo Solutions, a firm which provides healthcare analytics and business intelligence.

Through its 3M Health Information Systems, 3M Health Care provides software and consultancy service systems that are utilise by hospitals, commercial organisations and government agencies to compile, organise and analyse health information.

It is thought Treo's analytics will be utilised to support these efforts, extending real-time processing and payment redesign globally. 3M hopes it will boost the takeup of its 360 Encompass System. 

Jon Lindekugel, 3M Health Information Systems president, said: "Together, 3M and Treo will offer customers access to better, more comprehensive data that gives a more complete picture of the patient across all sites of care."

Treo is currently headquartered in New York and has offices in Denver and Kansas, employing close to 200 workers. 

Subject to the necessary approvals from regulators and closing conditions, the deal is expected to be completed in the second quarter.
