3M opens new offices in Loughborough

3M's brand new premises at Charnwood Campus in Loughborough has now officially opened.

Around 170 employees are based in Building 47 at the site, working across three floors in a 36,000 sq ft building.

The premises is set in 70 acres of landscaped grounds and is less than half a mile away from 3M's existing manufacturing and distribution site at Derby Road.

Irfan Malik, managing director of 3M United Kingdom, said: "We’re very excited to be here and to be part of what is set to become a vibrant working environment for future innovation in the region.

He added that the research and development facilities reflect 3M's status as a worldwide, science-based technology firm and will support its future growth and development for many years to come.

The opening of the premises was attended by senior 3M executives, local business and community representatives and Mayor of Charnwood Councillor Pauline Ranson.
