3M’s MicroTouch DST Touch System chosen as ViewSonic’s interface

12th January 2009

3M’s MicroTouch DST Touch System has been chosen by ViewSonic as the touch interface for its new commercial display, it has been revealed.

The CD4220T screens, incorporating the 3M technology, will be used for interactive solutions in training rooms, building directories, hotel lobbies and shopping centre kiosks.

MicroTouch DST was selected due to its "reliable and robust" characteristics, according to Jeff Volpe, vice-president and general manager of ViewSonic North America.

A statement released by 3M also highlighted its advantages in a public environment, such as chemically-strengthened protective glass and minimal screen glare in brightly-lit areas.

Chris Tsourides, business unit manager at 3M Touch Systems, stated: "ViewSonic’s selection of the DST touch interface adds to the growing list of global display manufacturers who understand and value this product’s unique touch features for digital signage displays."

People in scientific sales jobs may also be interested in viewing the webcast of 3M’s fourth-quarter earnings conference call. A replay will be available on the company’s website for a week following the meeting, which will be held on January 29th. ADNFCR-1050-ID-18967157-ADNFCR
