3Spine Concludes Recruitment for Lumbar Fusion Substitute Trial

15th January 2024

3Spine, a healthcare technology company, has revealed that they have completed recruitment for a medical study that will help get its lumbar spinal fusion substitute approved by the FDA.

The study builds on findings from two prior experiments, including over 170 posterior lumbar fusions and 150 completed lumbar total joint replacement procedures.

The Motus apparatus is recommended for the biomechanical restoration of a spinal motion section after decompression at a single lumbar level.

Much like contemporary orthopedic joint replacement procedures, it takes over the role of the disc and facet joints.

Jeffrey Goldstein, the leading investigator on the research, commented, “Learning a totally new and potentially game-changing spine procedure has been incredibly rewarding, and our own experience here at New York University suggests that we have developed something with remarkable significance.”
