Abbott launches new Alinity diagnostic systems range
Abbott has announced the launch of Alinity, a new unified family of innovative next-generation diagnostic systems.
The product portfolio will begin its rollout later this year, continuing into 2017. It encompasses a range of next-generation systems, including immunoassay, clinical chemistry, point-of-care, haematology, blood and plasma screening and molecular diagnostic tools.
Bringing the range together are a universal, intuitive interface language and common software and hardware, allowing each of the tools to work together. Several of the platforms will be designed to run more tests in less space, generate rapid results and minimise human errors.
The systems are all supported by Abbott's AlinIQ combined professional services and informatics solution, which was launched earlier this year to help labs achieve greater operational productivity with their existing resources.
Brian Blaser, executive vice-president for diagnostic products at Abbott, said: "With our unified family of testing instruments, we'll be able to offer more efficiency, flexibility and confidence to health systems and better help doctors and nurses get the results they need to improve decision-making and patient care."
