Abbott launches nutrition product in chocolate form

Abbott has announced the launch of a new nutrition product in the form of chocolate squares.

ZonePerfect Indulgence Nutrition Squares are designed for those with a sweet tooth who need a vitamin boost and come in three classic dessert flavours – chocolate cheesecake, chocolate peanut butter mousse and caramel toffee.

The products, which can be eaten sensibly as a treat, contain between 18 and 19 vitamins and minerals and ten to 11 grammes of protein.

Additionally, they are free of high-fructose corn syrup and will be available in chemists and grocers across the country.

Monica Hysell, general manager and vice-president of Abbott Nutrition, stated: “Because they have protein for satiety and vitamins and minerals for overall health, they are a good-for-you-snack that will not only delight the taste buds but also the body.”

Abbott posted its financial results for the third quarter of 2009 this week, revealing an increase of 8.4 per cent in its worldwide operational sales, as well as a 16.2 per cent rise in its medical products operational sales.
