AbbVie aims to help public overcome ‘Fear of Finding Out’

16th February 2018

AbbVie is launching an online quiz as part of a wider consumer-focused preventative health campaign.

The pharmaceutical company is working with The Patients Association and Freuds to help the public deal with FOFO – the Fear of Finding Out – under the banner of Live:Lab.

As part of this effort, an online quiz has been launched to encourage people to think about if they are avoiding getting medical advice and storing up future health problems.

Gwenan White, Live:Lab project lead and comms director at AbbVie UK, commented: "We hope the public have fun with Crush Your FOFO and listen to the serious message that lies behind it – that it’s important to get worrying health symptoms checked out as early as possible."

According to figures from AbbVie, nearly two-thirds of Britons would avoid seeing a doctor because they are scared of being told they are seriously ill.

Meanwhile, one in three said they would possibly delay making an appointment because they are concerned about being pressured into making lifestyle changes.
