ABPI launches new clinical trial disclosure toolkit

15th August 2013

The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) has introduced a new clinical trial disclosure toolkit, designed to help guide companies of all sizes through the different steps of the disclosure process.

It consists of 11 elements – including good practice guidelines, disclosure checklists and templates for standard operating procedures – and has been launched to help drug developers meet clinical trial transparency requirements.

The ABPI pledged to launch this toolkit earlier this year in response to growing demand for the industry to improve its transparency standards when it comes to publishing results from clinical studies.

In response to initiatives such as the AllTrials campaign, a number of companies – including GlaxoSmithKline and Roche – have already pledged to make data more readily available in future.

ABPI chief executive Stephen Whitehead said: "As part of a global industry, we are actively engaging with our European and international counterparts, as well as many other stakeholders, to input into ongoing discussions around clinical trial transparency."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801625335-ADNFCR
