Actavis names new global chief compliance officer

Actavis has announced the appointment of Jonathon Kellerman as its new executive vice-president and global chief compliance officer.

Mr Kellerman, a recognised industry thought leader in the field of compliance strategy, organisation and function, joins the company from PwC, where he was a partner at the firm's pharmaceutical and life sciences advisory practice.

In this position, he was responsible for helping lead the firm's governance, risk and compliance practice, giving him substantial experience in compliance, sales and marketing performance improvement.

Mr Kellerman will become a member of the Actavis executive leadership team, taking a key role in integration planning both before and after the planned takeover of Allergan.

Brent Saunders, chief executive officer and president of Actavis, said: "We look forward to his contribution in strengthening Actavis' commitment to effective global compliance programmes."

The new recruit will fit into a refreshed management and leadership structure that will come into effect following the completion of the Allergan takeover. This is expected to take place in the second quarter of 2015.
