Actavis reorganises leadership team following Allergan takeover

18th December 2014

Actavis has provided details of the changes it will make to its leadership structure following the completion of its acquisition of Allergan in the second quarter of 2015.

When the deal closes, Brent Saunders will continue to lead the combined company as its chief executive officer and president, with Paul Bisaro remaining as executive chairman of the board of directors.

The expanded senior management team will be comprised of leaders from both Actavis and Allergan, with its sales and marketing activities separated into three divisions: international brands, branded pharma and Allergan Medical.

Meanwhile, its brand research and development team will report directly to the chief executive, with efforts being made to drive greater integration between global operations, generics research and generic commercial market activity.

Mr Saunders said: "The management structure we are announcing today will ensure that we capitalise on the value of Allergan's world-renowned businesses and the proven track record of the leaders of its powerful and critically important franchises."

The $66 billion (42.16 billion pounds) takeover deal will create one of the world's largest healthcare organisations and follows Actavis' recent acquisitions of Warner Chilcott and Forest Laboratories.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801766709-ADNFCR
