Actelion reports preliminary revenue figures

21st January 2008

Ahead of the publication of fully-audited financial figures for 2007 next month, Actelion has published its total net revenue figures for last year.

In total, the company announced sales of CHF 1,317.4 million (608.6 million pounds) for the year, marking a 39 per cent increase in the figure for 2006.

“This performance is the result of strong product sales, driven by Tracleer,” the firm said.

“In 2007, Actelion’s lead product for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension achieved total sales of CHF 1,178.6 million, with continuous growth recorded in all territories worldwide.”

For the fourth quarter of 2007, net revenues reached CHF 370.9 million, up 16 per cent over the previous quarter, with the company adding that the rises in sales of Tracleer and Ventavis could be attributed to variants in buying patterns.

Actelion noted that its full-year results will be presented in Zurich on February 21st with the 2008 annual general meeting of the company to be held in Basel on April 11th.

In October 2007, Actelion announced a 38 per cent increase in the net revenues recorded for the first nine months of the year, compared to the figures for 2006.

The company also reported a growth in its product pipeline.
