Agfa HealthCare ‘integrates OrthoView into Impax’

16th July 2008

Agfa HealthCare has signed an agreement to integrate the OrthoView orthopaedic digital planning solution from Meridan Technique into its Impax for Orthopaedics solution.

OrthoView consists of five specialist models developed in conjunction with the orthopaedic community.

These are joint replacement, fracture management, limb deformity correction, paediatrics and spine.

OrthoView enables doctors to pre-operatively template and plan surgical procedures without the use of film X-rays.

Agfa HealthCare said the integration of these features into its own Impax solution offers a complete set of functions for orthopaedic departments.

Gilbert Hersschens, global product manager of orthopaedics at Agfa HealthCare, said: “Integrating Meridian’s OrthoView into our IMPAX solution was a natural step for Agfa HealthCare.”

He added the solid reputation of OrthoView is helpging the company meet its customer’s demands, with the deep integration of the solution facilitating the delivery of the best-of-all-worlds to its consumers.

In November 2007, Afga Healthcare launched seven Impax suites for digital imaging at the RSNA 2007 exhibition in Chicago.

These suites included specialised mammography, cardiovascular, radiology and orthopaedic systems as well as enterprise solutions for healthcare facilities.

All suites include a picture archiving and communications system and radiology information system.
