Agilent and Bruker to offer compatibility between chromatographic data solutions
Agilent Technologies has announced that it will allying with Bruker to create compatible instrument drivers for their respective gas chromatographs.
The companies will exchange information to develop drivers that will allow their respective gas chromatography systems to be interfaced with and controlled by either Agilent's OpenLAB or Bruker's Compass chromatography data systems.
This will provide customers more freedom of choice when selecting a chromatography data system for their laboratories, as it will enable them to preserve their investments in workflows and increase efficiency in operating procedures.
Agilent's OpenLAB software will be able to support Bruker's 3000 and 400-series gas chromatographs, while Compass drivers will support Agilent's 5890, 6890 and 7890 devices. The drivers will be released before the end of the year.
Bruce von Herrmann, vice-president and general manager of Agilent's software and informatics business, said: "We are a leading proponent of open systems for the laboratory and this collaboration with Bruker increases the availability of open system options for our customers."
This comes after Agilent agreed to distribute Cerno Bioscience's MassWorks calibration and analysis software with all of its future GC/MSD systems earlier this month.
