Agilent announces launch of Keysight Technologies

Agilent has announced that its spin-off business Keysight Technologies has formally commenced operations as of August 1st 2014.

The new company comprises the former electronic measurement business of Agilent and will become a wholly independent business in November 2014. For the time being, it is operating as a subsidiary of Agilent.

Keysight will be able to boast a market-leading position in a number of sectors, including communications, aerospace and defense, and industrial, computers and semiconductors.

Ron Nersesian, Keysight's president and chief executive officer, said: "We look forward to the many opportunities ahead that will allow us to focus solely on electronic measurement and showcase the leading-edge technologies that our customers have come to expect."

The decision to spin off Keysight into a separate organisation was made in September 2013 and will allow Agilent to focus solely on its core life science, diagnostics and applied market offerings, while maximising the business potential of the electronic measurement business.
