Agilent customer survey highlights key lab work challenges
Agilent Technologies has announced the findings of of a global customer survey that will help to inform its future product and service development goals.
Conducted by Frost and Sullivan on Agilent's behalf, the survey of 700 lab workers in four countries revealed that maintenance and downtime was seen as the most pressing challenge, cited by 73 percent of respondents.
The growing complexity of instrument testing requirements was mentioned by 63 percent of customers, while time-consuming sample preparation was an issue for 60 percent of those polled. Other key issues include keeping up to date with regulations and managing data better.
Agilent's survey also indicated that many respondents are looking to optimise their workflows through steps such as improved productivity and throughput, and streamlined processes to manage the growing workloads they are facing.
Additionally, one in five said lab size is a challenge affecting their performance, with space-saving designs – a key product development goal for Agilent – suggested as a solution.
