Agilent launches 6545 Q-TOF mass spectrometry system
Agilent Technologies has announced the launch of its new mid-range 6545 Q-TOF mass spectrometry system, which offers enhanced sensitivity in routine analysis.
Offering improvements both in terms of its hardware and software capabilities, the device has been optimised to be more reliable and easier to use for trace-level analysis of small-molecule compounds.
One of its key features is the new autotune software, which utilises particle swarm technology to optimise the instrument for small-molecule analyses with a single click. It takes only 15 minutes to optimise the instrument to get up to five times more sensitivity for small molecule compounds.
This makes it ideal for applications such as food safety, environmental testing, forensic toxicology and pharmaceuticals, according to Agilent.
Monty Benefiel, Agilent's vice-president and general manager of mass spectrometry products, said: "The 6545 demonstrates Agilent's commitment to increasing mass-spec sensitivity at every price point, delivering up to five times the sensitivity of previous instruments for small molecule analyses."
