Agilent launches new AriaDx real-time PCR system in Europe
Agilent Technologies has announced the European launch of AriaDx, a new modular solution for clinical diagnostic labs and assay developers.
The real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) system is designed to help identify pathogens, genotype infectious agents, and for cancer diagnostics. AriaDx is the only modular real-time PCR instrument on the market intended for in vitro diagnostic use.
Its modular design incorporates changeable optics, allowing labs to set up AriaDx with a single optical cartridge and add up to six in total as required. The system also provides intuitive touchscreen controls and analysis software to further increase its user-friendliness and versatility.
AriaDx is ideally suited for assays detecting gene expression, allele discrimination and genotyping, as well as being compatible with existing fast chemistry-based assays that are DNA-binding and probe-based.
Jeff Heimburger, head of genomics marketing at Agilent, said: "We are excited to provide a new generation of flexible qPCR diagnostics instrumentation for our partners creating molecular diagnostic assays."
The device has received European CE Mark approval and is now ready for launch in Europe.
