Agilent launches new QPCR reagents for detection and quantification

25th February 2010

Agilent has released two new high-speed QPCR reagent products which are designed to allow for faster and more efficient performance for those conducting detection and quantification-based research.

The science company’s new Brilliant III Ultra-Fast QPCR and QRT-PCR Master Mix Kits are designed to offer rapid cycling times when used with any real-time PCR instrument while maintaining sensitivity and accuracy.

It states that this will allow many real-time experiments to be completed in less than 40 minutes, with the kits optimised for use in applications as diverse as gene expression analysis, pathogen detection and SNP genotyping.

Dr Nick Price, product manager at Agilent, said that the accuracy of its technology is improved further by the relative lack of formation of non-specific and secondary products.

He added: “We see time-to-results becoming increasingly important to researchers and are very pleased to offer the rapid-cycling benefits of the Brilliant III Ultra-Fast reagents.”

Earlier this month, the company published its financial results for the first quarter of the 2010 fiscal year, during which its revenues increased by four per cent year-on-year.
