Agilent launches two new triple quadrupole GC/MS instruments

21st July 2016

Agilent Technologies has announced the launch of a pair of new triple quadrupole gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) systems.

Joining the company's 7000 series line-up, both the 7000D and 7010B systems improve laboratory users' ability to monitor food and water quality, and are being showcased at the North American Chemical Residue Workshop in Florida.

The 7010B system includes Agilent's exclusive high-efficiency ion source, which enhances its sensitivity by a factor of ten. Both models are also available with the company's patented JetClean self-cleaning ion source, making it easy to readily remove matrix deposits.

Existing single-quad GC/MS customers who want to run samples on a triple-quad machine can make use of their existing single-quad methods with a single mouse click thanks to Agilent's MassHunter software.

Monty Benefiel, vice-president and general manager of Agilent's mass spectrometry division, said: "Both of our new instruments … include enhancements that not only improve analytical performance but make them easier to use than any previous triple quad GC/MS system."

Last month, the firm expanded its business further with the acquisition of the assets of iLab Solutions, a leading provider of cloud-based solutions for core laboratory management.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801822221-ADNFCR
