Agilent names new member of board of directors

16th September 2015

Agilent Technologies has announced the appointment of Sue Rataj to its board of directors with immediate effect.

Ms Rataj is the former chief executive of BP's global petrochemicals business, a post from which she retired in April 2011. She was also a group vice-president of BP and previously held a number of senior management positions at the company.

In September 2011, she was appointed as a member of the board of Cabot Corp, a specialty chemicals and performance-materials manufacturer, and joined the supervisory board of Bayer in April the following year.

She can boast a strong track record of professional achievement, executive leadership skills and industry knowledge.

James Cullen, Agilent's chairman, said: "Sue's insights into both chemical and pharmaceutical markets are particularly relevant as Agilent continues to expand its success in analytical laboratories to life science solutions and diagnostics markets."

The company announced the acquisition of Seahorse Bioscience in a deal worth $235 million (151.53 million pounds) last week.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801800644-ADNFCR
