Agilent reports revenue increase in second quarter
Agilent Technologies has published its financial breakdown for the second quarter of its fiscal year, during which it experienced a year-on-year revenue increase.
The science company’s revenue for the three-month period ending April 30th 2010 came to $1.3 billion (901 million pounds), up 16 per cent on the same period last year.
Its life science division’s performance was a factor in this improvement, with revenues in this business unit up by 12 per cent, while chemical analysis product sales saw a 19 per cent increase.
Bill Sullivan, Agilent’s president and chief executive officer, said this represented a “very solid quarter”, adding that its growth was reflected throughout all regions and the majority of its key markets.
He stated: “As the economic recovery continues to gain momentum, we believe that Agilent is in an excellent position to respond to the opportunities of its markets around the world.”
Last week, the firm launched its new Agilent Rack for LC Systems, an aluminium storage and protection device for users of liquid chromatography systems.
