Agilent Technologies agrees expanded proteomics alliance with MRM

28th July 2014

Agilent Technologies has extended its co-marketing agreement with MRM Proteomics to collaboratively offer a wider range of solutions in this field.

Building on an existing collaboration established in 2012, the new partnership will allow both organisations to bolster their combined proteomics offering, which comprises reagent kits, hardware and software.

Proteomics is the study of the structure and function of proteins, looking at how they interact within a complex biological system. Both companies provide a number of technologies to advance this process that function in tandem with each other.

For example, Agilent's 6495 Triple Quadrupole MS/MS system provides targeted MRM peptide quantitation at attomole detection levels, while MRM Proteomics offers services and kits for highly multiplexed absolute quantitation of proteins in complex biological samples.

Steve Fischer, market director for Agilent's life science research group, said: "This collaboration further reflects our commitment to building a comprehensive portfolio of quantitative proteomics solutions for those growing industries."

This comes after the firm agreed a deal with Bruker last month to create compatible instrument drivers for their respective gas chromatographs.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801738081-ADNFCR
