Agilent Technologies announces CEO changeover

24th March 2015

Agilent Technologies has announced that Mike McMullen has been confirmed as its new chief executive officer (CEO) by its board of directors.

Mr McMullen, who previously served as the company's president and chief operating officer, is Agilent's third CEO since it spun off as an independent business in 1999. He can boast more than three decades of working for Agilent and former parent company Hewlett-Packard.

His appointment comes as part of a previously-announced transition plan that saw Mr McMullen named as CEO-elect in September 2014. Since then, he has been responsible for overseeing the company's three businesses, as well as its order fulfilment, IT, workplace services, global sourcing and logistics functions.

James Cullen, chairman of Agilent's board of directors, said: "Since being named CEO-elect six months ago, he has built a new organisational structure and created compelling strategies that will create growth and value for our shareholders."

Bill Sullivan, who has served as CEO for the last decade, now becomes a company advisor, ahead of his full retirement at the end of October this year.

He has been credited with driving significant growth and transformation for Agilent over an extended period of time.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801781040-ADNFCR
