Agilent Technologies announces improved ADS technology
Agilent Technologies has announced details of a new system that will help reduce the costs involved with the development of a number of electronic applications.
Those in science sales jobs have been advised that the latest version of the manufacturer’s Advanced Design System (ADS) has been designed to cope with high-speed circuit design for use in various platforms.
It is hoped that the 2009 ADS electronic design automation will allow designers to share simulation models and reduce the need for reworking their products – cutting the amount of costs and delays involved with the process.
Among the improvements will be higher integrity analysis, as well as more rapid eye-diagram optimisation using multi-gigabit serial links, which have been built to provide the lowest bit error rate possible.
How-Siang Yap, ADS Product Marketing Manager for Agilent, said it was hoped the potential economic value of the new product would make it popular with users.
"Reducing even one month-long hardware spin can save up to $1 million (694,000 pounds). Our customers are excited about this potential savings," he added.
Agilent Technologies president and chief executive, Bill Sullivan, recently warned the firm had felt the "full brunt" of the credit crunch.
