Agilent Technologies announces retirement of board member

4th November 2015

Agilent Technologies has announced that founding director Barry Rand has retired from the company.

Mr Rand stepped down from the board on October 31st, having served on the company's board of directors since its spinoff from Hewlett-Packard in 2000.

He served as chief executive officer of AARP between 2009 and 2014, with other previous roles including chairman of the board of Aspect Communications, and chairman and chief executive of Equitant.

As part of Agilent's board of directors, he served its compensation committee and its nominating and corporate governance committee, playing an important role in supporting the company's transformation from a diverse technology company to its current position as a life sciences, diagnostics and applied chemicals leader.

Jim Cullen, Agilent's chairman, said: "I am grateful to Barry for his countless valuable contributions and guidance to our board, and to me personally over the past 15 years."

This comes after the firm completed its acquisition of Seahorse Bioscience earlier this week.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801804982-ADNFCR
