Agilent Technologies honours biotechnology centre
Agilent Technologies has granted the Turku Centre for Biotechnology of University of Turku and Abo Akademi University the status of Certified Service Provider for Agilent gene expression microarrays.
The company announced the certification after the centre demonstrated its proficiency in a number of areas, such as using the Aglient system to analyse Agilent’s 60-mer oligo microarrays and using its 2100 Bioanalyser in sample quality control.
Furthermore, the Turku Centre also passed assessments that included sample labelling using Agilent’s protocols and reagents, microarray analysis using the company’s scanner and feature extraction software, hybridisation using SureHyb chambers and using the GeneSpring bioinformatics platform for final data analysis.
Chris Grimley, Agilent senior marketing director at Genomics, said the company was "pleased to welcome" the biotechnology centre to its global Certified Service Providers list.
"We know the work of scientists both inside and outside the university will be supported to very high standards and we look forward to a long, productive relationship for both parties," he commented.
