Agilent Technologies introduces new Channel Simulator

4th February 2009

Agilent Technologies has revealed a new million-bit-per-minute signal integrity Channel Simulator.

Developed for multigigabit chip-to-chip date link design, the product enables an interactive eye measurement from channel simulations based inside the signal integrity design and analysis environment of Agilent’s Advanced Design System (ADS) EDA software platform.

People in science sales jobs may be interested in the Channel Simulator, which is expected to be used most commonly on the design and verification of chip-to-chip multigigabit serial links, which are located in most digital products, such as laptops and internet routers.

Colin Warwick, signal integrity product manager with Agilent Technologies’ EEsof EDA division, explained its throughput is a thousand times faster than the Spice system and therefore can enable instant eye measurement results.

"[It] is unique because it allows our customers to build the model from regular ADS circuit and physical-level components. They can access tuning, optimisation and batch mode – all from an intuitive user interface," he added.

Agilent also demonstrated its new PCI Express Jammer recently.
