Agilent Technologies launches 4200 TapeStation System for DNA analysis

21st October 2015

Agilent Technologies has announced the launch of the 4200 TapeStation system, a fully automated instrument for use in next-generation sequencing applications.

Designed as the successor to the popular 2200 TapeStation system, the instrument enables scientists to rapidly analyse up to 96 DNA samples at a time, thus addressing the need for higher throughput and higher quality in next-generation sequencing labs.

It enables end-to-end quality control of samples and libraries in any sequencing workflow, using any number of samples from one to 96, at a constant cost per sample.

Agilent's TapeStation systems are designed to be easy to use, employing a range of prepackaged kits for RNA, DNA and genomic DNA samples. The company's portfolio also includes the new D5000 and HS D5000 ScreenTape assays for analysing DNA fragments and smears of up to 5,000 base pairs.

Knut Wintergerst, marketing and support manager for Agilent's microfluidics product line, said: "High-fidelity data is essential to enable researchers to use their data to identify DNA-based diseases, for example."

This comes after the firm launched a new suite of online training course for laboratory professionals earlier this month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801803755-ADNFCR
