Agilent Technologies names Varian Medical CEO as new board member
Agilent Technologies has announced the appointment of Dow Wilson to its board of directors, effective as of March 20th 2018.
Since 2012, Mr Wilson has been the chief executive officer (CEO) of Varian Medical Systems, a medical device and software products company developing new treatments for cancer.
Prior to this, he served as the company's chief operating officer and executive vice-president, while he also spent 19 years with GE Healthcare, eventually becoming CEO of GE's healthcare information technology unit.
In addition to his role with Agilent, Mr Wilson continues to serve as a member of the board of directors of the US trade association AdvaMed and Varex Imaging Corporation, which was created through the successful spin-off of Varian Medical.
Mike McMullen, Agilent's president and chief executive officer, said: "Dow brings an important breadth of experience in the healthcare industry. He is a well-respected leader, who is skilled at identifying new opportunities and building new businesses."
