Agilent Technologies reports solid growth in third quarter

17th August 2010

Agilent Technologies has published results for the third quarter of its fiscal year, expressing satisfaction with its year-on-year growth.

The science company's revenues increased by 30 per cent in the three months ending July 31st 2010 compared to the corresponding period of 2009, reaching a total of $1.4 billion (882.4 million pounds).

A large portion of its growth was attributable to the recent acquisition of Varian, a deal which has now been completed, while integration of its assets is currently ongoing.

In addition, Agilent benefited from strong growth in divisions such as life sciences, chemical analysis and electronic measurement, while it was also able to expand its business in all major geographies.

Bill Sullivan, Agilent president and chief executive officer, said: "We are excited about our robust pipeline of new product introductions and expect to take advantage of the many opportunities across our broad range of markets."

Last week, Agilent announced the launch of version 4.1 of its OpenLAB Electronic Lab Notebook technology, designed to make it easier for scientists to share and collate experiment data.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800028028-ADNFCR
