Agilent’s IQFISH panel for lung cancer receives Scientists’ Choice Award
Agilent Technologies has announced that its new IQFISH panel for lung cancer has received a 2017 Scientists' Choice Award.
The panel, which is designed to help detect genetic aberrations associated with non-small-cell lung cancer, received the award for best new clinical laboratory product at a ceremony held during August's AACC Annual Scientific Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo.
Scientists around the world were invited to participate in the Scientists' Choice Awards by nominating, voting and reviewing products online, meaning that the IQFISH panel was able to claim the prize as a direct result of customer satisfaction with the product.
Using Agilent's technology, multiple FISH slides can be processed in just four hours, compared to two or more days for traditional FISH methods. As such, educated decisions on treatment can be reached faster.
Jeff Heimburger, head of genomics marketing for Agilent, said: "Not only is this a recognition of product quality and innovation, it also shows that we're listening to our customers and developing the right products that help them fight cancer."
The IQFISH panel launched in Europe in 2016 after receiving CE-IVD labelling, although it is not yet available for sale in the US.
