Alcon launches website for allergy sufferers

19th March 2009

Alcon has launched a website to give advice and information to nasal allergy sufferers.

The online resource includes facts about the causes of the conditions and an interactive poll with regards to a patient’s symptoms.

It also features Alcon’s latest campaign for the firm’s nasal spray Patanase, which is designed to relieve the side effects of seasonal conditions by going straight to the source of the problem.

Bobby Lanier, clinical professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, remarked the website is a good resource as most patients research health problems online.

He commented: “It addresses the important need for patients to understand their symptoms and how to get quick, safe relief.”

This month, Alcon announced it had signed a five-year agreement with LCA-Vision to place the former’s Allergretto Wave Eye-Q 400Hz excimer lasers in all of the latter’s LasikPlus vision surgery centres by the end of the third quarter of 2009.

Alcon was founded in 1945 and employs nearly 15,000 staff worldwide.
