Alicona launches the ISO Norm 25178

Alicona has launched a new measurement device that optically classifies area-based measurements.

The new ISO Norm 25178 is its first standardised parameter to classify optically.

A company statement said: "As a member of the responsible ISO committee, WG 16, experts of Alicona Imaging played an important role in defining the classifications of methods for surface measurement techniques."

The firm added the experts were involved in the final definition of surface parameters to be extracted.

Focus variation and MeX are included in the product’s optical surface measurement techniques.

It also includes several parameters to characterise surface measurement results.
