Align marks one million scans with iTero Element scanner

Align Technology has announced that its iTero Element scanner has now been used to submit more than one million scans since it was introduced in 2015.

The one millionth scan submitted was for an Invisalign patient being treated by Dr Troy Moore, a dentist based in Amarillo, Texas, who praised the system for the efficiency benefits it has provided, as well as for its user-friendly design.

Raphael Pascaud, Align Technology's chief marketing officer, said: "The proven iTero digital technology enables doctors to perform high levels of restorative and orthodontic workflows that enhance their patient care and help them grow their practice."

Coinciding with this announcement, the company revealed that it has formed a new collaboration with Exocad to seamlessly connect its iTero intraoral scanners with Exocad's Chairside CAD software.

This integration will provide dental clinics with a simpler workflow solution for efficient scanning, design and production of in-house dental prostheses.
