Align Technology acquires distribution partner GL Dental Couture

Align Technology has announced the acquisition of its distribution partner GL Dental Couture, which is based in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates and Nicosia in Cyprus.

GL Dental Couture serves as the distributor for the Invisalign brand in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Purchasing the company gives Align direct access to customers and distribution partners across markets including Russia, the Baltics, Turkey, Monaco, Israel and Cyprus.

The deal will also give Align full rights to sell its own products in territories across the EMEA region, enabling the company to focus on driving accelerated growth in these markets. This coincides with the opening of the firm's first office in the Middle East this week.

With the announcement of the acquisition, the company paid tribute to Dental Couture's chief executive Gil Laks and his team for their work in successfully establishing the Invisalign brand across the EMEA region over the last seven years.
