Align Technology and Patterson Dental agree iTero distribution deal

Align Technology has announced a new North American distribution agreement for its iTero Element intraoral scanning system with Patterson Dental.

This expands Patterson's portfolio of CAD/CAM products by adding the iTero scanner's proven digital technology and related Invisalign compatibility and tools, with the distribution deal set to come into effect from September 2017.

With Align's iTero scanner, dentists can conduct scans in as little as 60 seconds, visualise changes in dentition and perform restorative and orthodontic workflows, with the overall goal of enhancing patient care and helping dentists to grow their practice.

Raphael Pascaud, chief marketing officer and vice-president for the iTero brand at Align Technology, said: "Together, through combined digital technology and support offerings from the iTero and Patterson teams, we will help dentists transition to full digital workflows and enable them to respond more effectively to changing market demand."

During the second quarter of 2017, the company recorded a 36.7 percent year-on-year increase in iTero revenues, helping Align to achieve a record-breaking performance for the quarter.
