Align Technology launches new Invisalign solution for teenage patients

Align Technology has announced the launch of a new clear aligner that helps to simultaneously align teeth and reposition the jaw in growing teenage patients.

The Invisalign Teen system with mandibular advancement represents the first clear aligner solution for Class II correction in teenage patients, incorporating features for moving the lower jaw forward while correcting the position of the teeth at the same time.

It replicates the action of commonly-used functional appliances for Class II correction through the use of special precision wings that hold the mandible in a forward position. Traditionally, mandible positioning needs to be addressed separately from malocclusion and crowding issues, resulting in a longer overall treatment time.

As such, this new solution offers increased patient comfort during treatment and up to 50 percent shorter treatment times when combined with weekly aligner changes.
