Align updates software for iTero Element scanner and Invisalign Outcome Simulator

Align Technology has announced the introduction of upgraded software for its iTero Element intraoral scanner and Invisalign Outcome Simulator.

Version 1.4 of the iTero Element scanner software adds a number of new features, including colour scanning in both scan and view mode, restorative pretreatment scanning options and improved orthodontic scanning to provide real-time feedback.

Meanwhile, the 4.0 upgrade to the Invisalign Outcome Simulator provides additional capabilities such as 3D progress tracking and patient simulation sharing, allowing data to be viewed on smartphones, tablets and computers.

The Invisalign Outcome Simulator is a chairside cloud-based application for the iTero scanner that allows doctors to help patients visualise how their teeth may look at the end of treatment with the Invisalign clear aligner system.

Raphael Pascaud, Align Technology's chief marketing officer, said: "Only the iTero Element scanner can deliver orthodontic and restorative treatment solutions, simplified clinical workflows, the Invisalign Outcome Simulator software application and specific patient-focused tools."

This comes after the firm also recently launched its new Invisalign G7 system and ClinCheck Pro 5.0 treatment software.
