Allergan names new head of global operations
Allergan has announced the appointment of Wayne Swanton as its new executive vice-president of global operations.
Mr Swanton will join Allergan's executive leadership team and assume responsibility for global manufacturing, quality, supply chain, procurement, pharmaceutical technology, operational excellence, engineering, environmental health and safety, and security.
During his career to date, he has played an important role in overseeing the firm's global operations during a period of rapid change, including the acquisitions of Forest Labs and Allergan, as well as the divestiture of the firm's global generics business.
His promotion coincides with the departure of executive vice-president and chief operating officer Rob Stewart, who is leaving Allergan to become president and chief executive of Amneal Pharmaceuticals in 2018.
Brent Saunders, chairman and chief executive officer at Allergan, said: "Our focus on succession planning and Rob's leadership in developing a strong bench has enabled us to have a smooth transition of his responsibilities."
