Allianz Animal Insurance plan praised by rabbit owner

24th December 2009

Allianz Animal Insurance, which offers its packages under the name Petplan, has been praised by one animal owner in the UK.

Rabbit lover Janet Warnes, who owns three of the creatures, told the Daily Mail that two of her pets suffer from anorexia, which is a common condition in the animals.

This, the newspaper added, can often lead to multiple vet visits when their stomachs shut down – leaving them unable to eat.

However, Ms Warnes has a policy with Petplan costing £155 annually, which she claimed takes a lot of the financial worry away.

“If I didn’t have insurance, I wouldn’t be able to afford to pay for the treatment they need,” she told the news provider.

Last month, Petplan donated £500 to the Celia Hammond Animal Trust in Lewisham in London through its monthly charity prize draw.

The trust said that it will use the funds to establish an isolation ward for sick pets at its headquarters.
