Anachem launches new DNA extraction technology

Anachem has launched a new DNA extraction product which allows samples to be extracted at high speed.

The science firm’s Kapa Express Extract is a thermostable protease and buffer system which is capable of producing PCR-ready DNA samples in as little as 15 minutes.

It has been designed to function with a variety of different tissue types, as well as blood and processed food, while providing optimal tissue lysis and DNA preservation.

In addition, Anachem states that the fact that extractions are performed in a single tube without using hazardous chemicals reduces the risk of contamination or sample loss.

The company said: “With Kapa Express Extract, use of time consuming and laborious specialised kits required for traditional DNA extraction methods is eliminated.”

This product is the firm’s latest addition to its molecular biology product portfolio, which also includes KeyPrep, a range of reagents for nucleic acid manipulations, PCR and electrophoresis which are designed to be affordable.
