Anachem launches new Good Pipetting Practice programme
Anachem and Mettler Toledo have launched Good Pipetting Practice (GPP), a new programme designed to help life scientists to improve their liquid handling processes.
The specially-developed five-step guidance series is comprised of risk analyses, educational materials and seminars, aimed at elucidating potential risks involved in these procedures and improving the consistency of results.
It commences with an evaluation and selection phase that helps users choose the right instruments, followed by a training stage to provide information on the proper techniques to use.
Concluding the programme is a calibration and routine operation component, which focuses on risk assessment and pipette maintenance.
Anachem said: "Pipettes are an essential tool in life science research, as the majority of experiments require the careful handling of precise volumes of liquid. Their accuracy and precision is therefore vital for producing good quality results."
The company is the UK and Ireland's leading laboratory liquid handling specialist and became part of the Mettler Toledo group in January 2010.
