Animalcare has announced that its managing director Dr Iain Menneer has taken over as chief executive officer (CEO) of the company with immediate effect.
He has been selected as the successor to Stephen Wildridge, who has stepped down from the CEO role into the position of director of strategy and business development until October 2013, when we will retire from the company.
Dr Menneer has been with the firm since 2003 and has been responsible for key marketing and business development functions, ascending to his most recent position of managing director in March 2012.
Mr Wildridge has been credited with a key role in helping Animalcare develop from being a non-core business within a larger group to becoming a highly successful independent organisation.
The firm launched five generic veterinary medicines last year and recently resumed the sale of its Buprecare single dose ampoules after a lengthy break in supply.
James Lambert, chairman of Animalcare, said: "While we will miss Stephen's experience, he leaves the group in a strong position and with a proven, capable successor in Iain Menneer."
