Animalcare resumes production of Buprecare ampoules
Animalcare has announced that it is resuming the sale and production of its Buprecare single dose ampoules after a lengthy break in supply dating back to July 2011.
The company has been unable to produce its market-leading analgesic product since its previous supplier Recipharm abruptly closed its sterile injectable production unit, resulting in the disruption of ampoule creation in the UK and EU markets.
However, Animalcare has now agreed a new deal with a German multinational contract manufacturer with a substantial sterile injectables facility in France, meaning Buprecare ampoules is once again being made available in all previously supplied markets.
The product will complement the Buprecare multidose vial, which was launched by Animalcare in March 2012 and continues to sell strongly.
Stephen Wildridge, chief executive officer of Animalcare Group, said: "We are now back in a market that has been eagerly awaiting our return and with a supplier that puts us in an even stronger position. It's a very good way to start 2013."
This comes after the firm expanded its product range with the launch of Vitofyllin, a tablet prescribed for problems associated with canine ageing, in September 2012.
