Ansell appoints new non-executive director

Ansell has announced the appointment of Annie Lo, formerly of Johnson and Johnson, as the newest member of its board of directors.

Ms Lo will become a non-executive director of the company on January 1st 2013 following an internal search process in consideration of its board succession planning programme.

The former chief financial officer of Johnson and Johnson’s worldwide consumer and personal care group spent two decades with the organisation, accruing significant experience in managing healthcare business challenges and regulatory processes prior to her retirement in 2011.

Her areas of expertise include finance, developing markets, business integration and the medical devices trade, making her ideally suited to her new role.

Ansell chairman Glenn Barnes said the appointment "will further strengthen our board and complement our existing expertise as we pursue our global growth objectives, both organically and by way of acquisition".

Earlier this month, the company expanded its medical portfolio with the introduction of its new N95 Respirator and Surgical Mask.
