Ansell highlights contributions to Hurricane Sandy relief
Ansell has expressed satisfaction at having been able to offer assistance to people affected by the Hurricane Sandy superstorm that hit North America late last year.
The firm has contributed thousands of products to community organisations in areas stricken by the storm, while its medical and industrial business units have made donations to help relief and recovery efforts in New York and New Jersey.
Micro-Touch examination gloves were provided to help healthcare professionals tend to the injured, while other products offered workers protection while sorting through debris and removing pollutants and toxins.
The company said it felt compelled to help out, as its operational headquarters are located in New Jersey.
Robert Gaither, Ansell senior vice-president and regional director in North America, said: "We are glad that we can provide products that will be used to protect the hands of those who are helping in the community during this difficult time."
This comes after the firm last week completed the acquisition of Preferred Surgical Products, a privately-held US product and technology company.
