Ansell kicks off ‘search for HERO award nominees’
Medical manufacturer Ansell has kicked off its search for nominees for its third annual Ansell Cares HERO Nurse Service Award.
In a press release from the firm, Anthony Lopez, president and general manager of the medical global business unit, said: "The Ansell Cares HERO Nurse Service Award was established as a way to demonstrate our appreciation and admiration for nurses: their professionalism, dedication and compassions."
According to the company, the accolade was originally created to recognise the great work that nurses do, from administering medications and caring for wounds to providing comfort and making critical decisions.
Ansell announced that this year, the award would be open to nurses from Europe and New Zealand, not just those residing in Australia.
Nominations will be accepted from March 8th to April 9th and the firm encourages people to vote for those that have made a real difference. From April 10th, the list of nominees will be narrowed down to a shortlist of ten.
The final ten will be named the winners of the 2015 Ansell Cares HERO Nurse Service Award and will receive a plaque, a nursing book, and will have their stories shared online.
In addition, the person with the most votes will have a donation to the charity of their choice made in their name by Ansell.
