Applied Biosystems launches new software

23rd July 2008

Applied Biosystems has expanded its software development community to include a new analysis tool expected to help innovation.

The firm claims its new application specific tools will speed up bioinformatics solutions to enable researchers to realise the full potential of ultra-high throughput genomic analysis.

According to the company, the new tools were internally developed by its bioinformaticians to help scientists analyse vast amounts of data generated by its SOLiD system.

Shaf Yousaf, president of the organisation’s molecular and cell biology genomic analysis division, said: "We believe the availability of application specific tools and software are critical to helping scientists rapidly develop software applications that are necessary to advancing work in understanding genetic variation."

Applied Biosystems claims to be a leader in the life science marketplace focused on research and testing, and last month it launched a range of new microRNA analysis tools.

The company appeared at the second International Congress on Stem Cells and Tissue Formation in Dresden earlier in the month.
