Astra Tech highlights continued success of Atlantis abutments

AstraTech has highlighted the continued success achieved by its Atlantis CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing) abutment solutions in recent months.

The product range is currently the market-leading CAD/CAM abutment solution in the US and has been made available across all major implant systems, with various new product and service options to be introduced throughout 2012.

Last year, the company formed a strategic alliance with 3Shape to deliver Atlantis lab-based scanning for 3Shape scanners via a software interface that is currently in the pre-market testing phase.

Meanwhile, an Atlantis abutment core file is also set to be made available to users of the design software product 3Shape DentalDesigner soon.

Craig Rodriguez, vice-president of marketing at Astra Tech in North America, said: "The continued growth of Atlantis is, in part, due to our commitment to listening and responding to the feedback and needs of our customers."

Earlier this month, Astra Tech's parent company Dentsply revealed that its acquisition of Astra Tech last year helped it to achieve record-breaking financial results for 2011.
